Event Parking & Access:

  • Friday - 16:00hrs Onwards

  • Sunday - Off site by 18:00

On Arrival, use the White Gate entrance for exhibitors and not the main public/visitors entrance. There will be signs and marshals to assist. As you enter, please have your Vehicle Permit to hand or on display in your windscreen. This should be completed with your vehicle registration. You will be directed to a temporary parking bay where you will be able to leave your vehicle while you book in. At booking in, please indicate you will be displaying as reenactor. You will receive your wristbands together with other information and you will then be guided by marshals to your exhibiting area and positioned.

Rendezvous Point:
Optional meet up at The Priory Hall Portbury from 13:00 Friday, then travel to site in convoy

1944 - England, Garrison Camp

Clean Shaven. Correct period hair cuts.

 

Notes from Battalion: 

​​

  • Bring a rain coat. Current forecast is Thundery showers with a pleasant gentle breeze for Friday/Saturday. Sunday light rain. Average of 18 to 20°C during the day, dropping down to 13/11°C at night.

  • Set Dressing. If anyone has boxes/signage/props that we can use to decorate the display, please bring along.

  • If you have dance tickets, £15.00 will need to be paid to Lieutenant Spencer upon collecting

  • Class A uniform optional for Saturday night. If no class A, then Class B permitted (just drop your leggings and add a tie)

  • Beer Club suspended. Cater for yourself, or buddy up.

  • M41 Jacket with 1st Div Patch

  • Garrison Cap

  • Rough-Outs/Service Shoes

  • M1938 Dismounted Leggings

  • M1 Steel Helmet. Optional Mesh net.​

  • Class-A optional for Saturday evening. Or Class-B (M41, tie, no leggings)

  • Raincoat/Poncho

  • Over Coat

  • Tankers Jacket

  • Jeep Cap

  • Wool Sweater/Sweater Vest

  • HBT for after hours use (Shirt can be worn under the Field Jacket for extra insulation)

Please take note:​

  • All members are required to change into Green as soon at they are pitched up. And remain in uniform until endex has been called

  • Any deviation form the above uniform code will be questioned by the Unit Commander/NCO/Committee Member on the day. You may be asked to change.

  • Head cover to be worn at all times, either a Garrison Cap, or the M1 Helmet. (When on display a jeep cap should not be worn on it's own. After hours, the jeep cap can be worn as suits you)

  • No Bloused Jump boots

  • No Modern Tee shirts

  • No E-cigarettes insight while on display

  • No Vaping whilst on display

  • No beards. Clean shaven upon arrival, or shave when changing into Green on the first day

  • No Modern haircuts

  • No visible piercings or Tattoos

  • No modern watches

  • No modern glasses

  • Mobile phones and modern cameras can be used, but discreetly

  • All modern equipment (carrier bags, cool boxes, beer boxes, books, food packaging etc) to be hidden from sight at all times where possible

  • Rations and personal items are either wrapped in period packaging or used discreetly

  • No food/drink in modern packaging is to be consumed within the display area during public hours.

09:00 - Flag Detail. Roll call. Briefing and Uniform Inspection 
16:00 – Flag Detail

17:00 - Evening meal, wash up, clean up

19:00 - Evening Dance Starts

00:00 - Close of evening event. All members to report back to camp

  • Keep your Green heads on. If given an order by an Officer or NCO, react in the appropriate manner.

  • ​​Do not leave the Camp Area without clearing it first with either the Lieutenant, one of the senior NCOs or a Committee Member

  • Public display event. Respect the site rules and any reasonable requests given by the Staff.

  • Keep the profanities to a minimum or PG 13

There will be a meal deal available for £6.00 per person. This will include 

  • Pasta dish Friday Evening

  • Evening Meal Saturday

  • Breakfast Saturday & Sunday Morning

All Troops should have at least one of the following in their kit at all times for the communal cook pot:

Please remove modern labels and/or relabel if possible.

​Alcohol: No Beer club for this event. Bring enough for yourself or buddy up. Please drink responsibly.​

Insurance:

  • Unit PI Cover is in place, copy available on request.

  • Probationary Members and Guests. We expect you to have your own insurance cover, if not then we can cover you under the groups insurance for a nominal fee of £5 for the weekend. This is payable to Marcus or a Committee Member on the first day of the event.

Health & Safety:

  • ​Inform Rich Sage/Marcus/A Committee Member of any medical concerns/issues.

  • Wear suitable clothing.​

  • A Mix of Hot and Wet weather forecast. Bring sun screen and raincoats

  • Stay hydrated and eat at regular intervals
