Note. We have a new display area this year. We will be right next to the Air Space Hanger at the Eastern end of the air field. Prime location, so expect to be busy.

Event Parking:
Parking remains in the same location as previous events. The Field behind the American Hanger. Cars to be moved from display area to Car Park no later than 09:45 Saturday.

 

Access to Site:

  • Friday - 15:00hrs Onwards

  • Sunday - Off site by 09:00

Rendezvous Point:
Optional meet up at The John Barleycorn from 13:00 Friday, then travel to site in convoy

1944 - England, Pre D-Day Garrison Camp

Clean Shaven. Correct period hair cuts.

 

Notes from Battalion:

  • Public tickets for this event have already sold out. Expect a very busy day Saturday. ​

  • Looks like we have the weather on our side. 18 to 20°C during the day, dropping down to 5 to 8°C at night. Zero Rain forecast. But a little wind in the evening

  • Bring Sun Cream

  • Fire Bins are not authorised on site, so pack something warm for the evenings

  • Cold weather gear Optional, best to bring a Pullover/Tankers/Overcoat

  • Extra blankets as you see fit

  • Rain Coat/Poncho optional

  • Beer Club suspended. Bring a couple for your own consumption.

Please take note:​

  • All members are required to change into Green as soon at they are pitched up. And remain in uniform until endex has been called

  • Any deviation form the above uniform code will be questioned by the Unit Commander/NCO/Committee Member on the day. You may be asked to change.

  • Head cover to be worn at all times, either a Garrison Cap, or the M1 Helmet. (When on display a jeep cap should not be worn on it's own. After hours, the jeep cap can be worn as suits you)

  • No Bloused Jump boots

  • No Modern Tee shirts

  • No E-cigarettes insight while on display

  • No Vaping whilst on display

  • No beards. Clean shaven upon arrival, or shave when changing into Green on the first day

  • No Modern haircuts

  • No visible piercings or Tattoos

  • No modern watches

  • No modern glasses

  • Mobile phones and modern cameras can be used, but discreetly

  • All modern equipment (carrier bags, cool boxes, beer boxes, books, food packaging etc) to be hidden from sight at all times where possible

  • Rations and personal items are either wrapped in period packaging or used discreetly

  • No food/drink in modern packaging is to be consumed within the display area during public hours.

13:00 - Optional meet up at Pub.

15:00 Onwards - Arrival at site and set up

17:00 - Evening meal and R&R

Saturday

07:30 - Reveille and Flag Detail

08:00 – Breakfast

08:30 – Wash up, Clean up

09:45 - Mandatory Attendance. Roll call. Briefing and Uniform Inspection

10:00 - Event opens to the public

16:00 – Flag Detail

18:00 - Evening meal, wash up, clean up. Start packing away​

Sunday

07:00 - Reveille

09:00 - Exit site

  • All Members in attendance are ordered to fall in for Saturdays Briefing

  • Keep your Green heads on. If given an order by an Officer or NCO, react in the appropriate manner.

  • ​​Do not leave the Camp Area without clearing it first with either the Lieutenant, one of the senior NCOs or a Committee Member

  • Public display event. We are here at the invite on the Imperial War Museum. Respect the site rules and any reasonable requests given by the Staff.

  • Keep the profanities to a minimum.

​Food: 

There will be a meal deal available for £6.00 per person. This will include 

  • A Two Can Friday Evening

  • A Breakfast Saturday Morning

  • If there's enough interest Saturday Evening, then potential for a Take a Way Run/Delivery. This won't be covered in the Meal Deal prices

Insurance:

  • Unit PI Cover is in place, copy available on request.

  • Probationary Members and Guests. We expect you to have your own insurance cover, if not then we can cover you under the groups insurance for a nominal fee of £5 for the weekend. This is payable to Marcus or a Committee Member on the first day of the event.

Health & Safety:

  • ​Inform Rich Sage/Marcus/A Committee Member of any medical concerns/issues.

  • Wear suitable clothing.​

  • Hot weather forecast. Bring Sun Screen and stay hydrated

  • Pack a Pullover/overcoat for the evening.
