Notes

​

- Remember, this event is taking place in a public Park. The event have arranged Security, but please be mindful when it comes to policing kit especially at night. Stay extra vigilant when it comes to securing weaponry/knives/axes/beer etc.

​

- There will be no battle this year. However, Weapon and Firepower demonstrations will be held in the main arena at set times both days

​

- ***IMPORTANT*** Discharging of firearms is prohibited outside of the arena and restricted to scheduled times. Under No circumstances are weapons to be discharge outside of the advertised times/area, and by no means in Camp/on display (even by shouting "test fire"). Failure to obey this rule may see us ejected from the event. This is by request of the event sponsor; Combat Stress 

​

- No weapons of any type are to be taken outside of the event. The wider Ironbridge area will be joining in and available for us to visit, weapons are strictly restricted to the confines of Dale End Park.

​

All funds raised from this event will be going to the Combat Stress Charity.

​

Passes: Passes will be issued out by Sgt Warren/Pfc Dorricott upon arrival.

​

Upon Arrival: Head to Dale End car park and follow marshal directions to our pitch. Once unloaded and set up, cars are to be removed from the display and parked in the reserved areas on the Football field

​

As per last year, parking is on the Football field at the far side of the park next to the Ironbridge Rowing club. There is no direct access from the park to the car park

Come out of Dale End Car Park, turn left onto Buildwas Road, the entrance to the Rowing club is less than half a mile on the left.

Uniform Standard: Clean/Garrison

- M41 Jacket (with 1st Infantry Division Patch)
- M1 Steel Helmet

- ​Rough-Outs/Service Shoes with Leggings
- Garrison Cap with 16th DUI

- Dog tags
- M1928 Pack for display/

- T-Handle shovel
- Mess kit and KFS

- Belt to suit weapon, with canteen and Carlisle pouch.
- Personal Weapon

- Replica Mk2 Pineapple or M15/18 Smoke Grenades

- Notebook and pencil

- Military ID or Unit Membership card

- Raincoat

- Boot Polish/Cleaning kit

Saturday Evening Uniform:

- Correct Rank insignia representing your authorised rank within this group. 

- Ribbons (Careful on that fruit salad, insure they match your service stripes and bars)

- Correct Overseas Service Bar(s) & Service Strip(s) to be worn on the left sleeve (One Stripe for every thee years in service and one bar for every six months overseas service). Insure that these tie up with the ribbons you are wearing)

- Neck Tie

Insure your boots are polished

Clean Shaven

For those without a Class A Jacket, Class B is authorised

No E-cigarettes insight while on display (Permitted after hours)

No Vaping whilst on display (Permitted after hours)

No Modern hair cuts

No visible piercings or Tattoos

No modern watches

Mobile phones and modern cameras to be used discreetly

All modern equipment (carrier bags, cool boxes, beer boxes, books, food packaging, etc)hidden from sight at all times where possible.

Rations and personal items either wrapped in period packaging or used discreetly

Head cover to be worn at all times, either a Garrison Cap, or the M1 Helmet. (When on display jeep caps should be worn under the M1 helmet only. After hours the jeep cap can be worn on it's own).

Event Itinerary

Friday

​12:00 – Site available for set up

17:00 - Police Camp and head up the Wharfage to the Chippy.

19:30 - The Wheatsheaf bar and the Marquee will be open in the park with live music

 

Saturday

07:00 - Reveille and Flag Detail

07:30 - Fall in

08:00 – Breakfast

08:30 – Wash up, Clean up

10:00 - Show opens to public. Roll call, Uniform Inspection, Briefing

16:30 - Flag Detail

17:00 – Show closes to public

17:30 - Wash up, clean up and police weapons

18:00 - Furlough into Ironbridge. Evening meal (Pub meal or Chippy)

18:30 - Evening dance opens to the public (To be confirmed),

01:00 – Anyone not back in camp by this time will considered AWOL. You will go in The Book and have to answer to Corporal Nasty and the MP's Sunday Morning

Sunday

07:00 - Reveille and Flag Detail

07:30 - Fall in

08:00 – Breakfast

08:30 – Wash up, Clean up.

10:00 - Show opens to public. Roll call, Uniform Inspection, Briefing

10:00 – Those wanting to join the remembrance parade to fall in (To be confirmed)

17:00 - Show closes to the public

17:30 - Vehicle access to site to breakdown

19:00 – Site to be vacated by this time

This is a public display. Please do not leave or wander off without clearing it first with the Lieutenant or a Senior NCO.

​

Keep you Green heads on while on display. If given an order by an Officer or Senior NCO, react in the appropriate manor.

​

Food:

Friday Night – Walk into Ironbridge for Fish 'n' Chips

Saturday Breakfast – Self cater Spam and eggs

Saturday Lunch – Personal rations or run to Eley's for pasties/sausage rolls/pork pies?)

Saturday Dinner – Pub Meal or Fish 'n' Chips

Sunday Morning – Self cater Spam and eggs

Sunday Lunch – Personal rations

1x tin Stewing Steak or Corned Beef, and 1 tin of veg for a 2-can

Please remove modern labels and/or relabel if possible.

​Unit Kitchen fly sheet.

Personal Open or closed ender pup tents.

Radios: Unit SCR300, Lt's Hand Radios. Optional bring a Field telephone and cable if you have one for demonstration.

Weapons: Personal weapons. If a deac insure to bring a copy of deactivation certificate.

Unit Weapons: 60mm Mortar, .30 Cal, Bazooka, BAR

​

Pyros: Smoke only, no flashbang's

​

Blank firers: Permitted; BUT only to be used during strictly authorised timings. 

​

Camp Fire: Yes. Above/off ground only. Brian and Dorris will be bringing their fire bins

​

Fire Wood: Bring your own wood. Can everyone try to bring a bag each.

​

Bag rubbish/recycle and take home, you make it you take it home to recycle!

​

Water: Available at the far end of site

​

Toilets: Portaloos available onsite

​

Alcohol:  Permitted after hours. If in the Beer club, bring a pack of 20.

​

Health & Saftey:

​

I know we're all grown ups, but Dale End park and Ironbridge is right on the banks of the River Severn with little in the way of fencing separating the park from the river. It's an area that in the past was heavy industrialised. Please don't fall into/get the urge to dive into the River.

​

Inform Unit Commander (M.Spencer) on the day of any medical issues. Wear Sunscreen if needed and keep hydrated.

Bring Mosquito/Tick repellent. Baby oil and rope available upon request.

​

Insurance: Unit PI Insurance cover in place, copy available on request.

​

First Aid:  Modern First Aid kit available​
