What is it?

The M41 Wool cap, more commonly know as the Jeep cap is a wool knit cap with a short visor made mostly from knitted yarn.

 

As the name suggests, it was meant for Jeep crews,
but as the weather grew colder, many GI’s were issued them.

 

The cap could be snugly worn underneath the M1 helmet.
